Everybody’s ass is out, Mike.” ~ Marcus
The movie Bad Boys: Ride or Die dropped this summer, and one of my favorite scenes has to be right after Marcus had a heart attack. While he was in the hospital fighting for his life, he had this wild near-death experience (goes into a coma) where he experiences a vision of his late captain, who told him it wasn’t his time yet. Next thing you know, Marcus wakes up all energized. Still rocking that classic hospital gown, you know, the kind with your butt hanging out, he heads up to the hospital roof, stands on the ledge, and Mike shows up just in time to pull him back down. As they hug it out, the wind blows, exposing Marcus’s behind, and Mike says, “You know your ass is out, right?” Marcus, without missing a beat, replies, “Everybody’s ass is out, Mike.” That line is my favorite from the movie.
Marcus stated the obvious, "Everybody's ass is out," meaning we’re all exposed to life’s challenges, struggles, and moments of weakness. No one is invincible, and everyone faces vulnerabilities, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. As the year comes to a close, it’s easy to feel like you’ve been singled out if things didn’t go as planned. But remember, everyone is fighting their own battles, even those who seem to have it all together. Instead of dwelling on your failures, focus on your successes, no matter how small. Be grateful for making it this far and let those successes serve as a springboard to propel you into 2025.
As for me, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has engaged with the articles I’ve shared throughout the year. Your support, feedback, and interactions mean the world to me. As we close the chapter on 2024 and look ahead to 2025, I wish you all success, growth, and happiness. Thank you for being part of this journey, and I’ll see you in the new year!
